Narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The father of the Arabs is Sam, the father of the Romans is Yafith, and the father of the Abyssinians is Ham. Ruh, the narrator, while narrating from his memory in Baghdad, said: Prophet Nuh (may Allah be pleased with him) had three sons: Sam, Ham, and Yafith.
