عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَرَّمَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ أَجْسَادَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَسَلَامُهُ عَلَيْهِمْ))
Narrated from Sayyiduna Aws bin Abi Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, Allah Almighty has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets; upon them be Allah’s mercy and peace.

Ibn Sa'd, in "al-Tabaqat al-Kubra" 1/54, under the chapter "Mention of the Names and Lineages of the Prophets (sallallahu alayhim wa sallam)", has presented the following interesting information:
These are the Prophets and Messengers (alayhim as-salam) whose names have been mentioned in the Shari‘ah.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was asked whether Adam (alayhis salam) was also a Prophet. He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) replied: Yes, absolutely, he was a Prophet and he was spoken to (by Allah) … . The first Prophet who was sent was
Idris (Enoch) (alayhis salam), son of Yard, son of Mahla’il, son of Qinan, son of Anush, son of Sheeth, son of Adam.
Then Nuh (Noah) (alayhis salam), son of Lamak, son of Methuselah, son of Idris (Enoch).
After them, Ibrahim (Abraham) (alayhis salam), son of Tarah, son of Nahur, son of Sarugh, son of Arghu, son of Faligh, son of ‘Abir, son of Shalikh, son of Arfakhshad, son of Sam, son of Nuh.
Then Isma‘il (Ishmael) (alayhis salam) and Ishaq (Isaac) (alayhis salam), both sons of Ibrahim (alayhis salam).
After them, Ya‘qub (Jacob), son of Ishaq, son of Ibrahim (alayhim as-salam).
Then Yusuf (Joseph), son of Ya‘qub, son of Ishaq (alayhim as-salam).
