Hadith 10307

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((لَوْلَا بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمْ يَخْنَزِ اللَّحْمُ وَلَمْ يَخْبُثِ الطَّعَامُ وَلَوْلَا حَوَّاءُ لَمْ تَخُنْ أُنْثَى زَوْجَهَا))
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If it were not for the Children of Israel, meat would not become putrid and food would not spoil, and if it were not for Lady Hawwa (may Allah have mercy on her), no woman would betray her husband.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Manna and quails (salwa) were sent down upon the Children of Israel. Imam Qatadah rahimahullah said: The Children of Israel stored the meat of the quails (salwa), even though they had been prohibited from doing so, so they were recompensed for this action.
When Iblis adorned the matter for Adam alayhis salam, Lady Hawwa rahimahallah accepted it, and that evil was presented in a pleasing form, so she inclined towards it, until both Adam alayhis salam and Lady Hawwa rahimahallah ate from the forbidden tree of Paradise, due to which they were expelled from Paradise to the earth.
