Hadith 10274

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِابْنِ صَائِدٍ مَا تَرَى قَالَ أَرَى عَرْشًا عَلَى الْبَحْرِ حَوْلَهُ الْحَيَّاتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرَى عَرْشَ إِبْلِيسَ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Ibn Sayyad: "What do you see?" He said: "I see a throne upon the sea, around it are serpents." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is seeing the throne of Iblis."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu, who says: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Abu Bakr, and ‘Umar radi Allahu anhuma met him (Ibn Sayyad) on one of the roads of Madinah. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to him: “Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?” He (Ibn Sayyad) replied: “Do you bear witness that I (Ibn Sayyad) am the Messenger of Allah?” The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “I believe in Allah, His angels, and His books. What do you see?” He (Ibn Sayyad) said: “I see a throne upon the water.” The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “You see the throne of Iblis upon the sea. And what else do you see?” He (Ibn Sayyad) said: “I see two truthful ones and a liar, or two liars and a truthful one.” The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The matter has been confused for him, leave him.” (Sahih Muslim: 2925)

… The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, and Sayyiduna ‘Umar radi Allahu anhuma met Ibn Sayyad on one of the roads of Madinah.
