عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُلِقَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ نُورٍ وَخُلِقَتِ الْجَانُّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ وَخُلِقَ آدَمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ مِمَّا وُصِفَ لَكُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The angels were created from light, and the jinn were created from a blazing flame of fire, and Adam (peace be upon him) was created from that which has already been made clear to you.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … That is, Adam alayhis salam was created from clay. Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah says: In this hadith, there is an indication of the invalidity of the following hadith, which is very famous among the people: ((Awwalu ma khalaqa Allahu nooru nabiyyika ya Jabir.)) … O Jabir! The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet.
Because from this hadith of Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha, it is understood that only the angels were created from light, not Adam alayhis salam and his progeny. Remain alert and do not become among the heedless. (Sahihah: 458)
