Hadith 10227

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sayhan, Jayhan, Euphrates, and Nile are all among the rivers of Paradise.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah said: Just as the origin of man is from Paradise, similarly it is possible that the origin of the Nile River and the Euphrates River is from Paradise, as is mentioned in the Prophetic narration: ((Four rivers have been made to gush forth from Paradise: the Euphrates, the Nile, the Sayhan, and the Jayhan.)) (Musnad Ahmad) … Four rivers spring forth from Paradise: the Euphrates, the Nile, the Sayhan, and the Jayhan. However, the reality of the matter is that these rivers are gushing forth from well-known springs. This apparent contradiction will be resolved in such a way that the hadith pertains to matters of the unseen, in which it is obligatory to have faith and to submit before the one who has informed us of them, about whom Allah the Exalted has said: {فَـلَا وَ رَبِّکَ لَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَتّٰییُحَکِّمُوْکَ فِیْمَاشَجَرَ بَیْنَہُمْ ثُمَّ لَایَجِدُوْا فِیْٓ اَنْفُسِہِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَیْتَ وَیُسَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِیْمًا ۔} (Surah al-Nisa: 65) … But no, by your Lord! They will not (truly) believe until they make you (O Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) judge in all disputes between them, then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in (full, willing) submission.
