It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Our Lord laughs at the despair of His servant, while the change in his condition is near. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Does the Lord Almighty also laugh? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, we will not find goodness lacking with a Lord who laughs.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When Allah Ta’ala does not remove a minor trial from His servant for some time, despair of goodness begins to overpower him, whereas Allah Ta’ala knows that the matter of goodness is near for that servant.
The statement of Allah Ta’ala is: {قُلْیٰعِبَادِیَالَّذِیْنَاَسْرَفُوْاعَلٰٓیاَنْفُسِھِمْلَاتَقْنَطُوْامِنْرَّحْمَۃِاللّٰہِ} … Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against their souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah.” (Surah Az-Zumar: 53)
He further said: {وَلَاتَایْئَسُوْامِنْرَّوْحِاللّٰہِاِنَّہٗلَایَایْئَسُمِنْرَّوْحِاللّٰہِاِلَّاالْقَوْمُالْکٰفِرُوْنَ۔} … And do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, none despairs of the mercy of Allah except the disbelieving people. (Surah Yusuf: 87)
