بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَنَّ الرَّحْمَةَ أَوْدَعَهَا اللهُ فِي قُلُوبِ خَلْقِهِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ مِائَةٍ مِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ لِخَلْقِهِChapter: What has been reported regarding Allah placing mercy in the hearts of His creation—a part out of a hundred of His mercy for His creation
Hadith 10190

وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ رَابِعٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي غَلَبَتْ غَضَبِي
(Fourth chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When Allah Almighty created the creation, He wrote upon Himself with His own hand: Surely, My mercy has prevailed over My wrath.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah Ta'ala's mercy is more expansive than His wrath. The statement of Allah Ta'ala is: {عَذَابِیْٓ اُصِیْبُ بِہٖمَنْاَشَآئُوَرَحْمَتِیْ وَسِعَتْ کُلَّ شَیْْئٍ فَسَاَکْتُبُھَا لِلَّذِیْنَیَتَّقُوْنَ وَیُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّکٰوۃَ وَالَّذِیْنَ ھُمْ بِاٰیٰتِنَایُؤْمِنُوْن۔} … "My punishment—I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things. So I shall decree it for those who fear (Me), and give zakat (alms), and those who believe in Our signs." (Surah al-A'raf: 156)
