بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي عَدَمِ قُنُوطِ الْمُدْنِبِ مِنَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ لِكَثْرَةِ ذُنُوبِهِ مَا دَامَ مُوَحَدًاChapter: What has been reported regarding the sinner not despairing of forgiveness due to the abundance of his sins as long as he is a monotheist
Hadith 10183

عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حِينَ حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ قَدْ كُنْتُ كَتَمْتُ عَنْكُمْ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَوْ لَا أَنَّكُمْ تُذْنِبُونَ لَخَلَقَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَوْمًا يُذْنِبُونَ فَيَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the time of his death approached, he said: I used to conceal a hadith from you, which I myself heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you do not commit sins, Allah Almighty will create people who will commit sins, and then Allah Almighty will forgive them.
