عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ قُلْنَا لِجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَكُنْتُمْ تَعُدُّونَ الذُّنُوبَ شِرْكًا قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللَّهِ
It is narrated from Abu Zubair, he says: We said to Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you consider sins to be shirk? He said: Allah's refuge.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu is refuting the notion of declaring a Muslim to be a polytheist (mushrik) on account of sins. This is precisely the doctrine of the people of truth (Ahl al-Haqq).
