It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty accepts the servant’s repentance, or forgives him, as long as the veil has not occurred. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the veil? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For a soul to die in a state of associating partners with Allah (shirk).
