Hadith 10148

عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ لَطْمِ خُدُودِ الدَّوَابِّ وَقَالَ ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ عَصِيًّا وَسِيَاطًا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade striking animals on their faces and said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has made sticks and whips for your use.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of this hadith is that, when administering punishment, why do you not suffice with sticks and whips, that you begin to strike faces with your hands?
