It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyad bin Hamar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! A man from my tribe abuses me, while he is a person of lower status than me. Now, if I take revenge on him, will there be any blame on me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two people who abuse each other are both devils; they speak obscenely and lie." In another narration: "They lie and accuse each other."
