It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that a rooster crowed in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man cursed it because of this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Do not curse it, for indeed it calls to prayer.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Whatever assists in obedience to Allah Ta’ala is deserving of praise, not condemnation.
The wording of the narration in Sunan Abu Dawood is as follows: “Do not curse the rooster, for it awakens (people) for prayer.”
The general experience is that Allah Ta’ala has placed a natural disposition within the rooster, due to which it begins to crow continuously before Fajr and at the time of midday (zawal). In this way, one can estimate the time for the Fajr prayer and the Dhuhr prayer. In any case, this is a sign; after that, it is necessary to ascertain the exact time.
