Brief Explanation
Benefits: … On this subject, there is a hadith narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (radi Allahu anha). She says: "The prayer was made obligatory as two rak‘ahs, two rak‘ahs, in both residence and travel. Then the prayer of travel was maintained (as it was), and an addition was made in the prayer of residence." … That is, the prayer in both residence and travel was originally made obligatory as two rak‘ahs each; then this (amount) was designated for the prayer of travel, and an increase was made in the prayer of residence.
