It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and sought permission to enter. He (i.e., I) granted him permission to enter while his head was in the hand of a slave girl who was combing his hair. He tried to free his head from the slave girl, but Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Let her comb it. He submitted: O Leader of the Believers! If you had sent me a message, I would have come to you. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The matter was mine (therefore, I should have come myself).
