بَابُ مَنْ نَامَ وَبِيَدِهِ غَمَرٌ
Chapter: Sleeping with food in hand
Hadith 1219
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِشْكَابَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ نَامَ وَبِيَدِهِ غَمَرٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهُ، فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ، فَلا يَلُومَنَّ إِلا نَفْسَهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sleeps while there is grease on his hand and he does not wash it off, then if something bites him, he should blame only himself."
Hadith 1220
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ بَاتَ وَبِيَدِهِ غَمَرٌ، فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ، فَلا يَلُومَنَّ إِلا نَفْسَهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sleeps at night with greasy hands and then something bites him, he should blame only himself."
