It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come to his bed, he would lie down on his right side, then recite: «اللَّهُمَّأَسْلَمْتُ ...... » “O Allah! I have submitted my soul to You, I have turned my face towards You, I have entrusted my affairs to You, and I have relied upon You in all my matters, hoping in You and fearing You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites these words and then dies that night, dies upon the natural disposition (fitrah).”

Hadith Takhrij«صحيح : أخرجه البخاري ، كتاب الدعوات : 6315 و مسلم : 2710 و أبو داؤد : 5046 و الترمذي : 3394 و النسائي فى الكبرىٰ : 10541 و ابن ماجه : 3876»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When a man enters his house or goes to his bed, an angel and a devil hasten towards him. The angel says: End your work with goodness. The devil says: End your work with evil. So if he praises and remembers Allah, the angel drives the devil away and protects him throughout the night. Then when he wakes up, again the angel and the devil hasten towards him, and both repeat the previous conversation. So if he remembers Allah and says: All praise is due to the One who returned my soul to me after death and did not cause me to die in my sleep. All praise is due to the One "who holds the heavens and the earth lest they move from their places. If they were to move, who could hold them after Him? Surely, He is Most Forbearing, Most Forgiving." [سورہ فاطر: 41] All praise is due to Allah "who holds the heavens from falling upon the earth except by His permission... Surely, He is Most Kind, Most Merciful." [سورہ الحج: 65] If he dies, he dies the death of a martyr, and if he gets up and prays, it will be a prayer of great virtue.
