بَابُ : الشَّيْطَانُ يَجِيءُ بِالْعُودِ وَالشَّيْءِ يَطْرَحُهُ عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ
Chapter: Satan brings a stick or object and puts it on the bed
Hadith 1191
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنْ أَزْهَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْتِي إِلَى فِرَاشِ أَحَدِكُمْ بَعْدَ مَا يَفْرِشُهُ أَهْلُهُ وَيُهَيِّئُونَهُ، فَيُلْقِي عَلَيْهِ الْعُودَ أَوِ الْحَجَرَ أَوِ الشَّيْءَ، لِيُغْضِبَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ، فَإِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ فَلاَ يَغْضَبْ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ، قَالَ: لأَنَّهُ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Verily, Satan comes to the bed of any one of you when his family lays it out and prepares it, and he throws a stick, a stone, or something upon it so that he becomes angry with his family. When any one of you sees such a thing, he should not be angry with his family. He said: Because this is the work of Satan.
