بَابُ الْقُرْفُصَاءِ
Chapter: Sitting squatting
Hadith 1178
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتَايَ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عُلَيْبَةَ، وَدُحَيْبَةُ بِنْتُ عُلَيْبَةَ، وَكَانَتَا رَبِيبَتَيْ قَيْلَةَ، أَنَّهُمَا أَخْبَرَتْهُمَا قَيْلَةُ قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاعِدًا الْقُرْفُصَاءَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ الْمُتَخَشِّعَ فِي الْجِلْسَةِ أُرْعِدْتُ مِنَ الْفَرَقِ.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Qaylah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sitting squatting with his arms wrapped around his legs. When I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sitting in this humble manner, I trembled out of fear.
