بَابُ دُعَاءُ الرَّجُلِ إِذْنُهُ
Chapter: Man seeking permission by supplication
Hadith 1074
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: إِذَا دُعِيَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَدْ أُذِنَ لَهُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When a person is called, it is as if he has been given permission.
Hadith 1075
حَدَّثَنَا عَيَّاشُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَجَاءَ مَعَ الرَّسُولِ، فَهُوَ إِذْنُهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any of you is invited, and he comes along with the inviter, then this is permission for him."
Hadith 1076
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، وَهِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”رَسُولُ الرَّجُلِ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ إِذْنُهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When a person sends someone as a messenger to call another, that itself is permission."
Hadith 1077
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلاَنِيَةِ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي، ثُمَّ سَلَّمْتُ فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي، ثُمَّ سَلَّمْتُ الثَّالِثَةَ فَرَفَعْتُ صَوْتِي وَقُلْتُ: السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الدَّارِ، فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي، فَتَنَحَّيْتُ نَاحِيَةً فَقَعَدْتُ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيَّ غُلاَمٌ فَقَالَ: ادْخُلْ، فَدَخَلْتُ، فَقَالَ لِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ زِدْتَ لَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَكَ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الأَوْعِيَةِ، فَلَمْ أَسْأَلْهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ قَالَ: حَرَامٌ، حَتَّى سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْجَفِّ، فَقَالَ: حَرَامٌ. فَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: يُتَّخَذُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ إِدَمٌ، فَيُوكَأُ.
It is narrated from Abu Alaniyah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I went to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and said «السلام علیکم», but I was not granted permission to enter. I said «السلام علیکم» again, but still was not granted permission. Then, for the third time, I raised my voice and said «السلام علیکم»: O people of the house! «السلام علیکم». But still, I was not granted permission, so I sat down to one side of the door. Then a boy came out of the house to me and said: Come in, so I entered. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, if you had greeted more than this (three times), you would not have been granted permission. Then I asked him about vessels. For every vessel I asked about, he said: It is forbidden. Until I asked him about the jaf (leather vessel), and he said: It is forbidden. Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Jaf is the vessel whose mouth is covered with leather and tied with a strap.
