بَابُ الاسْتِئْذَانُ غَيْرُ السَّلامِ
Chapter: Permission other than Salam
Hadith 1066
حَدَّثَنَا بَيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فِيمَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ قَالَ: لَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُ حَتَّى يَبْدَأَ بِالسَّلامِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said regarding the one who seeks permission before greeting with salam: He should not be granted permission until he first says «السلام علیکم».
Hadith 1067
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: إِذَا دَخَلَ وَلَمْ يَقُلِ: السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ، فَقُلْ: لَا، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ: السَّلامِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When someone enters and does not say «السلام علیکم», then say to him: No, not until you bring the key, that is, say «السلام علیکم».
