بَابُ تَسْلِيمِ النِّسَاءِ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ
Chapter: Women greeting men
Hadith 1045
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئِ ابْنَةِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ تَقُولُ: ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَغْتَسِلُ، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: ”مَنْ هَذِهِ؟“ قُلْتُ: أُمُّ هَانِئٍ، قَالَ: ”مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ.“
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her), she says that I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was performing ghusl (ritual bath). I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with salam, so he asked: "Who is this?" I said: Umm Hani. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Welcome."
Hadith 1046
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ: كُنَّ النِّسَاءُ يُسَلِّمْنَ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ.
It is narrated from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him), he says: Women used to greet men with salam.
