Al-Adab al-Mufrad

It is narrated from Abu Qurrah Khurasani, he says: I saw Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he would pass by us, he would gesture with his hand and say salam. And there were white spots on his body.

And I saw Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to apply yellow dye and he had a black turban on.

Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand while greeting women with salam.

It is narrated from Sa’d, may Allah have mercy on him, that he went out with Abdullah bin Amr and Qasim bin Muhammad until both of them camped at the place of Saraf. Abdullah bin Zubair, may Allah be pleased with him, passed by there, so he greeted them with a gesture of his hand, and both of them replied to him.

It is narrated from Ata bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him), he says that he disliked greeting with a hand gesture. Or he said: Greeting with a hand gesture was disliked.
