بَابُ تَسْلِيمِ الرَّاكِبِ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ
Chapter: Rider greets the seated
Hadith 995
حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”يُسَلِّمُ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي، وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ، وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and the smaller group should greet the larger group."
Hadith 996
حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”يُسَلِّمُ الْفَارِسُ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ، وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and those who are fewer in number should greet those who are greater in number."
