It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to visit Sayyidah Umm Haram bint Milhan (may Allah be pleased with her), who was married to Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), and she would feed him food. Once, she fed him food and began to remove lice from his head, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell asleep. Then he woke up, and he was smiling.

Sayyiduna Qais bin Asim Sa'di (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "This is the chief of the Bedouins." I said: O Messenger of Allah! How much wealth should I have so that no beggar or guest has a right over me? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Having up to forty (camels, etc.) is good. If it reaches sixty, then this is considered a lot, and for those who have hundreds, it is destruction, except for the one who gives his beloved wealth as a gift, gives a well-milked animal to the needy, and slaughters a fat animal, eats from it himself, and feeds those who are content as well as those who ask." I said: O Messenger of Allah! These habits are very generous. In the valley where I live, because of the abundance of my livestock, no one brings their animals there. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What do you give as a gift?" I said: A young cow or bull and a two-toothed she-camel. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What do you do regarding the milking animal?" I said: I give a she-camel for milking. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What do you do regarding the pregnant she-camels?" I said: People bring their ropes and take the camel away with a halter; no one is prevented from this. The one who takes the camel keeps it as long as he wishes, and returns it whenever he wishes (I have never asked anyone about it). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do you love your wealth more or your relatives'?" He said: My own wealth. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Your wealth is only that which you have consumed and finished, or given away in charity; besides that, it belongs to your relatives and heirs." I said: Certainly, now I will go back and reduce my wealth, meaning I will give charity. When his death approached, he gathered his sons and said: O my sons! Listen to my words attentively, for no one can be a better well-wisher for you than me. Do not wail over me, for there was no wailing over the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbidding wailing. And shroud me in the clothes in which I used to pray. And make your elders your leaders; when you make your elders leaders, there will always be a successor of your father among you, and when you make the younger ones leaders, you will become insignificant in the eyes of your elders, and people will become indifferent to you. And manage your livelihood thoughtfully and properly, for in this way you will not have to ask from people. Do not stretch your hands before people, for this is the last resort for a servant. And when you have buried me, level my grave, for there have been disputes between me and the tribe of Bakr bin Wa'il, so I am not sure that some fool among them might do something that would bring a flaw into your religion.
Ali bin Madini (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I discussed with Abu Nu'man Muhammad bin Fadl, and he told me that I went to Sa'q bin Hazn (who was from Mallas) regarding this hadith, and he narrated from Hasan. He was asked: Did you hear it from Hasan yourself? He said: No, Yunus bin Ubaid narrates from Hasan. He was asked: Did you hear it from Yunus? He said: No, Qasim bin Mutayb narrated to me from Yunus, and he from Hasan, and he from Qais. I said to Abu Nu'man: Why did you not adopt this method? He said: It was lost from us (and I forgot it).
