بَابُ مَنْ هَدَّى زُقَاقًا أَوْ طَرِيقًا
Chapter: One Who Guides in an Alley or Road
Hadith 890
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفَزَارِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قِنَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْسَجَةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ مَنَحَ مَنِيحَةً أَوْ هَدَّى زُقَاقًا - أَوْ قَالَ: طَرِيقًا - كَانَ لَهُ عَدْلُ عِتَاقِ نَسَمَةٍ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives someone a milk-giving animal, or guides someone on a street or road, will receive a reward equal to freeing a slave.”
Hadith 891
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، يَرْفَعْهُ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ: لاَ أَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ، قَالَ: ”إِفْرَاغُكَ مِنْ دَلْوِكَ فِي دَلْوِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ، وَأَمْرُكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهْيُكَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ صَدَقَةٌ، وَتَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ، وَإِمَاطَتُكَ الْحَجَرَ وَالشَّوْكَ وَالْعَظْمَ عَنْ طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ، وَهِدَايَتُكَ الرَّجُلَ فِي أَرْضِ الضَّالَّةِ صَدَقَةٌ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu‘ form that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pouring water from your bucket into your brother’s bucket is charity. Enjoining good and forbidding evil is also charity. Meeting your brother with a smiling face is also charity. Removing a stone, thorn, or bone from the path of people is also charity for you. Guiding a lost person to the right way is also charity."
