Hadith 854
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَقُولُ لأَخٍ لَهُ صَغِيرٍ: أَرْدِفِ الْغُلاَمَ، فَأَبَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ: بِئْسَ مَا أُدِّبْتَ، قَالَ قَيْسٌ: فَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ يَقُولُ: دَعْ عَنْكَ أَخَاكَ.
It is narrated from Qais bin Abi Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) that I heard Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying to his younger brother: "Let this slave sit behind you on the ride." But he refused. Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "You have been badly brought up." Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Abu Sufyan saying: "Leave your brother to his own condition."
Hadith 855
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: إِذَا كَثُرَ الأَخِلاَّءُ كَثُرَ الْغُرَمَاءُ، قُلْتُ لِمُوسَى: وَمَا الْغُرَمَاءُ؟ قَالَ: الْحُقُوقُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: When there are many friends, there are also many claimants. Yahya bin Ayyub (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Musa: What is the meaning of claimants? He said: Rights.
