بَابُ يُدْعَى الرَّجُلُ بِأَحَبِّ الأَسْمَاءِ إِلَيْهِ
Chapter: Calling a Man by His Most Beloved Name
Hadith 819
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْقُرَشِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ذَيَّالُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ حِذْيَمَ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يُدْعَى الرَّجُلُ بِأَحَبِّ أَسْمَائِهِ إِلَيْهِ، وَأَحَبِّ كُنَاهُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hanzalah bin Huzaym (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) liked that a person should be called by his most beloved name and his most beloved kunyah.
