Hadith 811
Narrated from Sayyiduna Hani bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with his people, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard them calling him Abu al-Hakam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called him and said: "Judgment belongs only to Allah, and judgment is His alone. Then why have you adopted the kunya Abu al-Hakam?" He said: No, but the real matter is that when there is a dispute among my people, they come to me and I decide between them, and both parties are pleased with the decision. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is a good thing." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "How many children do you have?" I said: I have three sons, Shuraih, Abdullah, and Muslim. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "Who is the eldest among them?" I said: Shuraih. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then you are Abu Shuraih." And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for him and for his children.

Similarly, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard some people calling a man by the name Abd al-Hajar, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What is your name?" He said: Abd al-Hajar. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No, you are Abdullah."

Shuraih says that when my father Hani planned to return to his homeland, he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: Tell me something that will make Paradise obligatory for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Adopt good speech and feed people abundantly."
