Chapter: Saying "Woe to You"
Hadith 796
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُوسَى بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ يَسُوقُ بَدَنَةً، فَقَالَ: ”ارْكَبْهَا“، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ، فَقَالَ: ”ارْكَبْهَا“، قَالَ: إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ، قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ: ”وَيْحَكَ ارْكَبْهَا.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was driving a sacrificial animal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ride on it." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah! It is a sacrificial animal." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ride on it." The man said: "It is a sacrificial animal." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said for the third or fourth time: "Woe to you, ride on it."
