بَابُ لَا يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ: اللَّهُ وَ فُلانٌ
Chapter: Do Not Say "Allah and So-and-so"
Hadith 782
حَدَّثَنَا مَطَرُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: سَمِعْتُ مُغِيثًا يَزْعُمُ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَأَلَهُ: مَنْ مَوْلاَهُ؟ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُ وَفُلاَنٌ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: لاَ تَقُلْ كَذَلِكَ، لاَ تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللهِ أَحَدًا، وَلَكِنْ قُلْ: فُلاَنٌ بَعْدَ اللهِ.
It is narrated from Mughith (may Allah have mercy on him), who thinks that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked him about his master: He said, "Allah and so-and-so." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "Do not say like this, do not associate anyone with Allah. Rather, say: After Allah, so-and-so is my master."
