Ibn Shihab Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the nephew of Sayyiduna Abu Ruhm Kulthum bin Hisn Ghafari (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that he heard from Sayyiduna Abu Ruhm (may Allah be pleased with him), and he was among those companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who pledged allegiance under the tree. He used to say: I participated in the expedition of Tabuk with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). During the journey, one night I stopped at the place of Akhdar. Then I came close to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and drowsiness overcame us. I kept waking myself up, and my mount kept moving close to the mount of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I was worried that perhaps the blessed foot of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which was in the stirrup, might get struck by my mount. I kept pulling my mount back until, in a part of the night, sleep overcame me and my mount collided with the mount of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The blessed foot of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the stirrup, and a part of my mount touched his blessed foot. My eyes opened when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Hass." I said: O Messenger of Allah! Please seek forgiveness for me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Keep moving." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to ask me about those people of Banu Ghifar who had stayed behind from (the expedition of Tabuk). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me: "What happened to that red, tall, and dug-up army? Why did they not come?" He says: I informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about their staying behind. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Those black, curly-haired, and short-statured ones, whose animals are at the place of Shabkah Shadkh, why did they not come?" I tried to recall such people among Banu Ghifar, but I could not remember anyone with those characteristics. Then it occurred to me that these people are from the tribe of Banu Aslam. I said: O Messenger of Allah! These people are from the tribe of Aslam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What prevented these people from letting a strong and active man ride one of their camels in the way of Allah? Why does it weigh so heavily on me that among my relatives, the Muhajirun of Quraysh, the Ansar, and Banu Ghifar, and Aslam, should stay behind from Jihad?"

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man sought permission to visit the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This person is a bad man of his tribe." When he came in, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received him with a cheerful face. So I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, and he said: "Allah does not like the one who is foul-mouthed and ill-spoken."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that on the night of Muzdalifah, Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) sought permission to leave early (towards Mina), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted her permission because she was a heavy and slow woman.
