3 hadith
Hadith 724
It is narrated from Awsat bin Ismail, may Allah have mercy on him, that after the death of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I heard Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood in this very place where I am standing in the first year of Hijrah. Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep, and then said: “Adhere to truthfulness, for it is with righteousness, and both of them lead to Paradise. And beware of lying, for it is with wickedness, and both of them lead to the Fire. And ask Allah for well-being, for after faith and certainty, nothing is better than well-being. Do not sever relations with one another. Do not turn your backs on one another, nor envy or bear malice towards one another, and be, O servants of Allah, brothers to one another.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was supplicating: "O Allah! I ask You for complete blessing." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what complete blessing is?" He replied: Complete blessing is that a servant enters Paradise and is saved from Hellfire. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by another man who was saying: "O Allah! I ask You for patience." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have asked your Lord for calamity; instead, ask for well-being." He passed by another person who was saying: "O Possessor of Majesty and Honor." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Ask Allah for something."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that I said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication through which I may ask Allah Almighty. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Abbas! Ask Allah Almighty for well-being (aafiyah)." After some time had passed, I again came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication through which I may ask. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Abbas! O uncle of the Messenger of Allah! Ask Allah Almighty for well-being (aafiyah) in this world and the Hereafter."
