It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sarmah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate: «اللَّهُمَّإِنِّيأَسْأَلُكَغِنَايَوَغِنَىمَوْلاَيَ» "O Allah! I ask You for self-sufficiency and wealth for myself and my dependents." It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sarmah (may Allah be pleased with him) through another chain in a similar manner.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shakl bin Humaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «اللَّهُمَّعَافِنِيمِنْشَرِّسَمْعِي،وَبَصَرِي،وَلِسَانِي،وَقَلْبِي،وَشَرِّمَنِيِّي» "You should supplicate: O Allah! Grant me safety from the evil of my ears, my eyes, my tongue, and my heart. And protect me from the evil of my semen." Waki’ (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "From the evil of semen" means adultery and immorality, that is, I seek Your protection from falling into adultery.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! Help me and do not help against me, and support me and do not support anyone against me, and make guidance easy for me."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating with these words: "O my Lord! Help me and do not help anyone against me, and support me and do not support anyone against me, plan for me and do not plan against me, make guidance easy for me and help me against the one who transgresses against me. O Allah! Make me greatly grateful to You, make me remember You much, and make me fearful of You. Make me greatly obedient to You and one who turns to You often. Grant me the ability to humble myself before You and to turn towards You. O Allah! Accept my repentance, wash away my sins, accept my supplication, accept my excuse, guide my heart, correct my tongue, and remove malice from my heart."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited this supplication while on the pulpit: “(O Allah) Indeed, there is none who can withhold what You give, and there is none who can give what Allah withholds, and the wealth of a wealthy person cannot save him from Your punishment. And whomever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion.” I heard these words from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on these very planks of the pulpit. This narration from Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) is also reported through two other chains of transmission.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The strongest supplication is that you say: «اللَّهُمَّأَنْتَرَبِّي،أَنَاعَبْدُكَ،ظَلَمْتُنَفْسِي،وَاعْتَرَفْتُبِذَنْبِي،فَإِنَّهُلَايَغْفِرُالذُّنُوبَإِلَّاأَنْتَ،رَبِّاغْفِرْلِي» 'O Allah! You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I admit my sin. None forgives sins except You. O my Lord! Forgive me.'"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! Set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of all my affairs, and set right for me my worldly life in which is my living, and make death a mercy for me by which I am delivered from every evil and difficulty." Or he said words to that effect.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that among the supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was this supplication: «اللَّهُمَّاغْفِرْلِيذَنْبِيكُلَّهُ،دِقَّهُوَجِلَّهُ،سِرَّهُوَعَلَانِيَتَهُ،وَمَاأَنْتَأَعْلَمُبِهِمِنِّي،إِنَّكَأَنْتَالْمُقَدِّمُوَأَنْتَالْمُؤَخِّرُ،لَاإِلَهَإِلَّاأَنْتَ» "O Allah! Forgive all my past and future, hidden and apparent sins. And forgive those of my sins which You know better than I do. Surely, You are the One Who brings forward and You are the One Who puts back. There is no true deity except You."

It is narrated from Thumamah bin Hazn (may Allah have mercy on him) that I heard an old man reciting this supplication in a loud voice: "O Allah! I seek Your protection from evil, that not even a particle of it may touch me." I asked: Who is this elder? It was said: This is Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say: "O Allah! Purify me with snow, hail, and cold water, just as a dirty garment is cleansed of filth." Then he would say: "O Allah! O our Lord! All praise is for You, as much as fills the heavens and as much as fills the earth, and as much as fills whatever else You will after that."

Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I mentioned this to Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite this supplication, but he did not narrate it as a marfu’ (directly attributed to the Prophet).

So we said: (O Messenger of Allah!) You have made many supplications which we cannot remember. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you something that will gather all those supplications for you? (You should supplicate like this): 'O Allah! Indeed, we ask You for that which Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked You for, and we seek refuge with You from that from which Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sought refuge. O Allah! Only from You is help sought, and You alone are the One who guides to the desired goal. There is no power to avoid sin nor strength to do good except by Allah’s help.'" Or as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal). And I seek refuge with You from the trial of the Fire."
