بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلِ اللَّهَ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيْهِ
Chapter: One Who Does Not Ask Allah, Allah Is Angry With Him
Hadith 658
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ صُبَيْحٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : ”مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلِ اللَّهَ غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ.“ ¤ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الْخُوزِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ”مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيْهِ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever does not ask Allah, Allah becomes angry with him." It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever does not ask Him, He becomes angry with him."
Hadith 659
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ”إِذَا دَعَوْتُمُ اللَّهَ فَاعْزِمُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ ، وَلا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : إِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَعْطِنِي ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا مُسْتَكْرِهَ لَهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you supplicate to Allah, do so with firm resolve, and none of you should ever say: O Allah! If You will, grant it to me, for surely, there is no one who can compel Allah."
Hadith 660
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : ”مَنْ قَالَ صَبَاحَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ ، وَمَسَاءَ كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ ، ثَلاثًا ثَلاثًا : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ، لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ شَيْءٌ “، وَكَانَ أَصَابَهُ طَرَفٌ مِنَ الْفَالِجِ ، فَجَعَلَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفَطِنَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ الْحَدِيثَ كَمَا حَدَّثْتُكَ ، وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَقُلْهُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ ، لِيَمْضِيَ قَدَرُ اللَّهِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever recites this supplication three times every morning and evening: «بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ» ‘In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or the sky can cause harm. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’ Nothing will harm him.” The narrator of the hadith (Aban) had paralysis in some parts of his body, so the person listening to the hadith began to look at him. Aban realized his questioning gaze and said: The hadith is exactly as I have narrated it to you, but I did not recite this supplication on the day I was afflicted with paralysis, so that Allah’s decree would be fulfilled.
