Al-Adab al-Mufrad

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended the pulpit. When he stepped on the first step, he said: "Ameen." Then when he ascended the second, he said: "Ameen." Then when he ascended the third, he said: "Ameen." The Companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! We heard you say "Ameen" three times? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When I ascended the first step, Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: Wretched is the person who found the month of Ramadan, then it passed and he was not forgiven, so I said: Ameen. Then he said: Deprived is the servant who found his parents, or one of them, and they did not cause him to enter Paradise, so I said: Ameen. Then he said: Ruined is the person in whose presence your name is mentioned and he does not send blessings upon you. I said: Ameen."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty will send ten mercies upon him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended the pulpit, he said: "Ameen, Ameen, Ameen." It was asked of him: O Messenger of Allah! Previously you did not do this? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Jibreel (peace be upon him) said to me: May the nose of that person be soiled with dust who found his parents, or one of them, and yet did not enter Paradise. I said Ameen to this. Then he said: May the nose of that person also be soiled with dust who found Ramadan and was not forgiven, so I said Ameen. Then he said: That person is also humiliated before whom your name is mentioned and he does not send blessings upon you. I said: Ameen."

Mother of the Believers, Lady Juwayriya bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her)—her name was Barrah, which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) changed to Juwayriya—narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left from her place and disliked entering the house while her name was still Barrah. Then, when the day had advanced, he returned and she was still sitting in the same place. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Have you been sitting here continuously from the time I left you until now?” She replied in the affirmative. He said: “Indeed, after I left you, I have said four phrases three times. If they were weighed against all that you have said (in remembrance), they would outweigh them. These words are: «سبحان الله وبحمده عدد خلقه ورضا نفسه وزنة عرشه ومداد كلماته» Allah is free from imperfection, and we praise Him; as many times as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as heavy as His Throne, and as much as the ink of His words.” This narration is also reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) through another chain, but in that narration, the name of Lady Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) is mentioned only once.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seek refuge with Allah from the Hellfire, seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave. Seek Allah's protection from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and seek Allah's protection from the trials of life and death."
