It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The most beloved words to Allah Almighty are: «سبحان الله وبحمده، لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، سبحان الله والحمد لله» Allah Almighty is pure, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him, all praise is for Him, and He has full power over everything. Abstaining from sin and the ability to do good is only from Allah. Allah is pure, and with His praise (we are engaged).”
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me for some need while I was engaged in prayer. I was delayed in attending to him, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Aisha! Make comprehensive supplications." When I finished the prayer, I asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is a comprehensive supplication? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Say: O Allah, I ask You for every good, whether soon or later, that which I know and that which I do not know. And I seek refuge with You from every evil in this world and the Hereafter, that which I know and that which I do not know. And I ask You for Paradise and for every word and deed that brings me closer to it. And I seek refuge with You from the Fire and from every word and deed that brings me closer to it. And I ask You for everything that Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked You for, and I seek refuge with You from everything from which Muhammad (peace be upon him) sought refuge. And make the outcome of whatever You have decreed for me good."
