It is narrated from Abu Nu'aym (may Allah have mercy on him), he says: I saw Sayyiduna Ibn 'Umar and Sayyiduna Ibn Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) making supplication; both of them would wipe their palms over their faces.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raising his hands while supplicating, and he was saying: "O Allah! I am a human being, do not hold me accountable. If I have caused any harm to a Muslim, or spoken ill to him, do not take me to task for it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Tufail bin Amr Dosi came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! The people of the tribe of Daws have disobeyed and rejected (the message). Therefore, pray against them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the Qiblah and raised his hands. The people thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to curse them. But he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Grant guidance to the tribe of Daws and bring them to us."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in one year the rain stopped and there was a famine. On Friday, a man from among the Muslims stood up and said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! The rain has stopped, the land has become dry, and the livestock are perishing. Hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised his hands (during the sermon), while at that time there was no cloud visible in the sky, and he raised his hands so high that I saw the whiteness of his armpits. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked Allah Almighty for rain. We had not yet performed the Friday prayer when, because of the rain, the young man living nearby became anxious to go home. Then this rain continued until the next Friday. When the next Friday came, that man said: O Messenger of Allah! The houses have collapsed, and the riders are stranded. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smiled at the hastiness of the son of Adam, and raising his hands, said: “O Allah! Let the rain fall around us, not upon us.” So the clouds cleared away from Madinah.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raising his hands in supplication, and he was saying: "O Allah! It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Tufail bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Would you like to reside in the fortress and protection of the tribe of Daws?" The narrator says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) refused, because this honor had been reserved by Allah Almighty for the Ansar. Then Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) and a man from his people migrated towards Madinah. That man fell ill and became distressed, or the narrator said a word to this effect. So he dragged himself to his quiver, took out an arrow, cut the veins of his neck with it, and died. Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him in a dream and asked him: "How were you treated?" He said: "I was forgiven due to the blessing of migrating to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." He asked: "What is the matter with your hands?" He replied: "It was said to me: We will not set right what you yourself have ruined with your hands." The narrator says that Sayyiduna Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) related this dream to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he supplicated thus: "O Allah, forgive his hands as well." And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised both his hands in supplication.
