It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hell and Paradise argued with each other. Hell said: 'The arrogant and the tyrants will enter me.' Paradise said: 'Only the weak and the poor will enter me.' Allah Almighty said to the Fire: 'You are My punishment; with you I will punish whom I will.' And He said to Paradise: 'You are My mercy; with you I will show mercy to whom I will.'"

Narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are three people about whom there is no need to even speak (about how great criminals they are): one who separates himself from the community of Muslims and disobeys his Imam and dies in a state of disobedience—do not ask about him (what will become of him); similarly, a slave or bondwoman who runs away from their master; and a woman whose husband goes away somewhere and he provides her with worldly needs and expenses, yet she adorns herself for others and socializes with them. There are also three more people about whose destruction there is no need to ask: the person who tries to snatch the cloak of Allah’s majesty, and His lower garment is His honor; and the person who doubts about Allah; and the one who despairs of the mercy of Allah."

It is narrated from Muawiyah bin Qurrah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I was with Sayyiduna Ma’qil Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him), and he removed something harmful from the road. Then I saw something and quickly went to pick it up. He asked: "My nephew! Why did you do that?" I said: "I saw you do something, so I did it too." He said: "My nephew! You did very well. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever removes something harmful from the path of the Muslims, a good deed will be written for him, and whoever has one good deed accepted will enter Paradise.'"
