Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The head of disbelief is towards the east, pride and arrogance are found among those who keep horses and camels, who are villagers engaged in farming and raising large herds of cattle, and humility and calmness are found among those who tend sheep."

Hadith Takhrij«صحيح : أخرجه البخاري ، كتاب بدء الخلق ، باب خير مال المسلم : 3301 و مسلم : 52 - انظر المشكاة : 6268»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said: I am amazed at the matter of dogs and goats. Indeed, so many goats are slaughtered in a year and a large number are sacrificed as well. And a female dog gives birth to many puppies at one time, yet still goats are more than them.
It is narrated from Abu Zubyan (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: "Abu Zubyan! How much stipend do you receive from the treasury?" I said: "Twenty-five hundred." He said: "O Abu Zubyan! Buy farmland and livestock before the reins of power pass into the hands of the youths of Quraysh, for with them, gifts and stipends will have no value."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdah bin Hazn (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The camel herders and the goat herders boasted against each other. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Musa (peace be upon him) was made a prophet while he was a shepherd of goats. Dawud (peace be upon him) was made a prophet while he was a shepherd of goats, and I was sent as a prophet while I used to graze the goats of my family at the place of Ajyad.”
