Aswad bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): What did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) do in his house? She replied: He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to be engaged in the work of his family. When the time for prayer came, he would go out.

It is narrated from Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) that I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do in his house?" She replied: "He used to mend his shoes and did every work that men do in their homes."

She replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was also a human being among humans. He would remove lice and the like from his clothes, and he would milk his own goat.
