Adab al-Mufrad

Abu Bakr bin Hazm (may Allah have mercy on him), Muhammad bin Munkadir (may Allah have mercy on him), and some worshippers from the mosque visited Umar bin Hakam bin Rafi’ Al-Ansari (may Allah have mercy on him) to inquire about his health. They said to Umar: O Abu Hafs! Tell us a hadith. He said: I heard from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever visits a sick person enters completely into mercy, and when he sits by the sick person, it is as if he has settled permanently in mercy.”
