Hadith 509
Sayyiduna Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) went to serve Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her). This was ten days before the killing of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) was ill. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked: How is your health? She replied: I am in pain. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I am also in the state of death. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Perhaps you desire my death, that is why you wish for it. Do not do so. By Allah, I do not wish for death until the matter is decided one way or the other: either you are killed and I am patient over it and seek reward from Allah Almighty, or you are successful and my eyes are cooled. Beware that you are not faced with a situation which you do not agree with, and you accept it out of fear of death. The intention of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) was that his mother should pass away first, so that if he were killed, she would not grieve over it.

Hadith 510
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he (the Prophet) had a fever and was wrapped in a sheet. He (Abu Sa'id) placed his hand over the sheet on the Prophet (peace be upon him) and felt the heat even through the sheet. He said: O Messenger of Allah! How severe is your fever! The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Trials are made severe for us in this way, and the reward for us is also doubled.” He (Abu Sa'id) asked: O Messenger of Allah! Upon whom are the most severe trials sent? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Upon the Prophets, then the righteous people. Among them, some are tested with such poverty that they have nothing except a single cloak, which they tear and wear. And they are tested with lice and fleas until they kill them. They are as happy with trials as you are with gifts.”
