بَابُ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ
Chapter: The Spendthrifts
Hadith 444
حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعُبَيْدَيْنِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ عَنِ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ، قَالَ: الَّذِينَ يُنْفِقُونَ فِي غَيْرِ حَقٍّ.
Abu Al-‘Ubaydeen (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) about those who are extravagant. He replied: Those who spend without right are extravagant.
Hadith 445
حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: ﴿الْمُبَذِّرِينَ﴾ [الإسراء: 27]، قَالَ: الْمُبَذِّرِينَ فِي غَيْرِ حَقٍّ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the explanation of "mubadhireen" that it refers to those people who spend in matters that are not rightful.
