بَابُ الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالا فَعَلَى الأوَّلِ
Chapter: The Two Who Abuse Each Other, the Sin is on the Initiator
Hadith 423
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلاَءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالاَ فَعَلَى الْبَادِئِ، مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ الْمَظْلُومُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whatever two people who abuse each other say, its sin is upon the one who started it, as long as the oppressed does not exceed the limits."
Hadith 424
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالاَ، فَعَلَى الْبَادِئِ، حَتَّى يَعْتَدِيَ الْمَظْلُومُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The sin of the abuse between two people who revile each other is upon the one who started it, until the oppressed exceeds the limit."
Hadith 425
وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَضْهُ؟“ قَالُوا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: ”نَقْلُ الْحَدِيثِ مِنْ بَعْضِ النَّاسِ إِلَى بَعْضٍ، لِيُفْسِدُوا بَيْنَهُمْ.“
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what tale-bearing and the thing that cuts (relationships) is?" The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is conveying people's words to one another in order to cause discord."
Hadith 426
وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَوْحَى إِلَيَّ أَنْ تَوَاضَعُوا، وَلاَ يَبْغِ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has revealed to me that you should adopt humility and modesty among yourselves, and none of you should show arrogance over another."
