Chapter: Criticizing Lineage
Hadith 395
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”شُعْبَتَانِ لاَ تَتْرُكُهُمَا أُمَّتِي: النِّيَاحَةُ وَالطَّعْنُ فِي الأَنْسَابِ.“
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are two things which my Ummah will not abandon: wailing and casting aspersions on lineage."
