بَابُ إِصْلاحِ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ
Chapter: Reconciling Between People
Hadith 391
حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”أَلاَ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِدَرَجَةٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَالصَّدَقَةِ؟“ قَالُوا: بَلَى، قَالَ: ”صَلاَحُ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ، وَفَسَادُ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ هِيَ الْحَالِقَةُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), who reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Shall I not tell you of an action that is superior to prayer, fasting, and charity?" The companions said: "Yes, indeed (please tell us)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Reconciling between people who are at odds. And creating discord among people shaves (destroys) the religion."
Hadith 392
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: ﴿فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ﴾ [الأنفال: 1]، قَالَ: هَذَا تَحْرِيجٌ مِنَ اللهِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ يَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَنْ يُصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِهِمْ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: «﴿فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ﴾» [الأنفال: 1] "Fear Allah and make peace among yourselves," he said: In this, Allah Almighty has made it obligatory upon the believers that they must fear Allah in all circumstances and make peace in their mutual affairs.
