بَابُ مَسْحِ رَأْسِ الصَّبِيِّ
Chapter: Stroking the Head of a Child
Hadith 367
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلاَّمٍ قَالَ: سَمَّانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوسُفَ، وَأَقْعَدَنِي عَلَى حِجْرِهِ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) named me Yusuf, seated me in his blessed lap, and passed his hand over my head.
Hadith 368
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَلْعَبُ بِالْبَنَاتِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ لِي صَوَاحِبُ يَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ يَنْقَمِعْنَ مِنْهُ، فَيُسَرِّبُهُنَّ إِلَيَّ، فَيَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that after marriage, I used to play with dolls in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and many of my friends would also play with me. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come, they would run away out of shyness from him, so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would send them back to me, and then they would play with me again.
