بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يُحِبُّ قَوْمًا وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ
Chapter: A Man Loves a People but Has Not Joined Them
Hadith 351
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَلْحَقَ بِعَمَلِهِمْ؟ قَالَ: ”أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ“، قُلْتُ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، قَالَ: ”أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked: O Messenger of Allah! What if a person loves a people but does not have the strength to do deeds like theirs? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love." I said: I love Allah and His Messenger. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love (on the Day of Judgment)."
Hadith 352
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ: ”وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟“ قَالَ: مَا أَعْدَدْتُ مِنْ كَبِيرٍ، إِلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، فَقَالَ: ”الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ.“ قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَمَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ فَرِحُوْا بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ أَشَدَّ مِمَّا فَرِحُوْا يَوْمَئِذٍ.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "What have you prepared for it?" He replied: "I have not prepared much for it, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A person will be with those whom he loves." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: After Islam, I have not seen the Muslims happier than they were on that day.
